Today; We had a visit from Louise from Childsmile, who read us a story about Dora the Explorer who knows how to look after our teeth. We then did a superb job of brushing our teeth. Some of us painted pictures of tigers. We remembered to paint their black stripes and their whiskers. We had cereal and banana for snack. We then put on our coats and hats really fast and went outside to play a game of "In and Out the Dusty Bluebells" Oliver was the master today. At Get Together Time Mrs Black let us see a tiny caterpillar she found in her strawberry patch and then she read us a story called "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". I hope Mrs Black's caterpillar turns into a beautiful butterfly before it eats all her strawberries! We finished the morning by having great singing "Down in the Jungle" along with Mrs Bardell on the guitar.

Today; We made beautiful flowers from the jungle using tissue paper and straws. Ours looked just as beautiful as these. We had great fun with a super new doll's house that was kindly donated by Millie and Jacob who used to come to nursery but are now school. Thank you Millie and Jacob. We learned about the force of friction by seeing how fast a lego boat took to slide down a small slope covered with rough and smooth materials. Smooth was best! We had grapes, tangerines, cucumber and carrot with rice cakes for snack. No helpers today : ( We got lots of exercise playing a game of Musical Statues. We were all superb at standing still but Will, Connie and Hana were the best - even when Mrs Bardell tickled them! Next we played Musical Bumps and Ava was the fastest at sitting down this time. Well done boys and girls. At Get Together Time we heard that Aimee is going to Largs today to visit her Granny and that Hana is going to Connie's with Oliver to have tomato soup for lunch - delicious!
Today we had fun playing in the water with the jungle animals. We continued learning about how animals and insects protect themselves from danger in the rainforest. We talked about "Warning Colours". We drew beautiful pictures in our floorbook of Monarch Butterflies and Poison Dart Frogs and learnt that these little creatures don't have to hide because their bright colourful bodies let the other animals know that they're poisonous and not so tasty to eat! We played out in our garden for a while, we were pretending to be poisonous butterflies and frogs but the rain came on heavy and our fun was cut short. Snack today was apple, cheese and crackers. Will and Griffin are on snack duty this week , keep up the good work boys! At Get Together time we played with our new Song Sticks. The boys and girls enjoyed taking their turn to choose a stick out of the bag. Their singing was top notch! ![]() Our story was The Very Sleep Sloth. It was all about how everyone is good at something. We found out that the sloth is best at sleeping! This morning we certainly weren't lazy like the sloth, we were full of energy and had a great time working out to the Sticky Kids CD.
Today; We talked about Camouflage. We learned that animals protect themselves from danger by using camouflage. We also learned that animals that use camouflage either pretend to look like something else or they are the same colour as their surroundings so that they can't be seen. We drew patterns on butterflies and snakes to make them look the same as their background, so that they were camouflaged and then stuck them in our Floorbook. We had pear, strawberries and apple for snack. We played a game with news teddy using positional language. We put in, out, top, bottom, under and beside things. . At get together time we used different coloured pieces of material to camouflage ourselves so that we could hide from a hungry tiger!
This morning we had the sand out to play with, some of the boys were making great patterns with the wheels of the cars. We got busy finishing off our animal masks, they turned out really good! Some of the children worked in the floorbook, they painted fantastic animal patterns. Snack today was toast and banana. ![]() Mrs Black read us a story today called Whatever............ At get together time we all took turns trying to guess what type of animal was being described to us - Which animal has spots and stripes? - do you know? Buddy Bear is away home with Hana, hope both of them have a great time! Enjoy your weekend!
