Have a great Easter!
There are lots of new Easter pics on our photo gallery, remember to take a look.
Have a great Easter!
Today we were very proud to wear our Easter bonnets and hats.
We were able to finish making our Easter cards which have a special extra treat on them!
Then it was great fun to be able to make something really tasty to eat after lunch. We used rice krispies, Easter eggs and chocolate - yum!
For story time today we listened to Little Bunny's Easter and How Do You Know It's Easter?
Before we knew it it was time to put on our coats and go outside to see if the Easter Bunny had visited the nursery. Oh my goodness, he certainly had! Thank you for our Easter Eggs.
Afterwards we went on an Easter parade to show off our fantastic hats and bonnets.
Have a very Happy Easter everyone and a nice relaxing holiday. We'll see everyone again back at nursery on Monday 15th April.
We all talked about what we are doing during the Easter holidays. Natasha is going to a caravan, Martha is going to Cornwall and Hannah is going to her Grandma's in England.
Then we talked about things the boys and girls who are staying at home could do. The teachers told us about a show called My Brother the Robot which is on at Rutherglen Town Hall. It sounds really good and is by the same theatre company who previously performed The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom.
It was a good day to make a start on our Easter cards - wait till you see them all tomorrow!
At story time we listened to Hide, Easter Bunny, Hide.
Then we enjoyed hearing some jokes from My First Justin's Jokes. Here's a good one:
What's a rabbit's favourite treat?
We are all so excited about tomorrow at nursery - we have our colourful Easter bonnets to bring in and show off and an Easter Egg hunt! So much fun, we just can't wait.
Planned Outing to the Science Centre Planetarium
To tie in with our topic of Space, a slot at the Planetarium in the Glasgow Science Centre has been booked for Monday 22 April. The discounted cost for the nursery for this is £4 per child and £4 per adult. Unfortunately, due to limited space, siblings would be unable to come along on the day.
Like we did for the pantomimes in December, the plan is for each parent/carer to accompany their child on the day and meet in the foyer of the Science Centre at 10am. We have access until 2pm. There will be a Sky Safari Show at 12noon which lasts 30 minutes. We are also booked in to use the packed lunch area at 1pm so please feel free to bring a packed lunch for you and your child. If your child cannot attend the Science Centre, nursery will be open as usual on that Monday.
If you would like to come along, please add your name to the list beside the signing in book (or contact nursery and ask a member of staff to do this on your behalf). Payment should be handed in to nursery by Thursday 18th April.
Finally, information was sent home this morning with your child about the trip to Blair Drummond Safari Park on Friday 17th May and there was also an important letter from Stonelaw Preschool Parents' Committee to draw to your attention to.
Grace, Amber, Leo and Ruby were all full of news for us this morning.
Some of us had great fun painting huge colourful Easter eggs using fantastic pattern sequences.
Springtime is here at last! What an exciting time - we talked about all the changes taking place around us. We are going to keep our eyes peeled for as many signs of spring as we can spot.
Lots of new baby animals are born in springtime so we talked about some animals and their babies.
Our snack this morning was strawberries and yoghurt.
At story time we listened to The Teeny Weeny Tadpole.
Before home time we played Sleeping Bunnies and Dingle Dangle Scarecrow.
Don't forget that on Thursday morning we are having our Easter Bonnet parade. Can't wait to see the fabulous creations that we each come up with.
A note from Mrs Friel:
With the easter holidays fast approaching, why not do a spring clean and help raise money for nursery at the same time!
I have arranged for Bags2School to come to nursery on Tuesday 14 May. The company have provided bags (distributed to the children this morning) for parents and staff to fill with unwanted clothes, shoes, sheets and duvet covers (all of which must be in good condition). Bags2School then weigh these bags and send a cheque to nursery.
Unfortunately, as we have nowhere to store the bags until that date, could I ask that you bring any filled bags to nursery on Monday 13 May?
Thank you in anticipation of your support.
