We worked on our floor book this morning adding comments and pictures about the job of a Police man. The boys and girls had been really paying attention yesterday as they gave lots of good information and drew super pictures.
We listened to a short story called PC Polly.
We had great fun dressing up in the police uniforms.
We had toast and banana for snack today.
Buddy Bear is going home with Eve for the weekend.
We rehearsed our songs for our graduation show.
Have a super weekend everyone and we look forward to seeing you at parents days on Monday and Tuesday next week.
We had a special visitor in nursery today called PC Ritchie. He told us lots of different things about being a police man and the tools he uses. PC Ritchie told us how to cross the road safely and if a stranger asked did we want to see puppies or sweeties we should shout NO and HELP in a big voice. We had great fun trying on his hat and handcuffs.
We had our usual yummy Thursday snack of cereal and banana.
We had great fun making police cars with the play dough.
We listened to a factual book called "A day in the life of a Police Officer.
We continued to make special things for our Graduation.
Some of us had great fun pretending to be hairdressers.
The boys enjoyed playing with the Toolo.
We had strawberries, tangerines, grapes and breadsticks for snack.
After the story we talked about strangers and acted out what we would do if a stranger speaks to us. The girls and boys were very good at shouting "NO"!
We enjoyed a snack of strawberries and strawberry yoghurt.
We used our hand-eye coordination to make patterns and designs with our gears and cogs.
After that we went out to the garden and played "In and Out the Dusty Bluebells" - we got into such a tangle at the end that we had to sit down and play the "Big Brown Bear" as well!
There are some special events coming up next month that you don't want to miss - see details below:-
Graduation will be on Wednesday 25th June. This is an event that you don't want to miss. The children have been working hard and will be performing a short show prior to their graduation ceremony. Afterwards there will be a lunch for all children and family members.
The doors will open at 10.50am for all to be seated for an 11.00am start. All family and friends of the children ( however big your family is ) are more than welcome to join us for the show and graduation ceremony.
We do ask, however, to keep your numbers to a minimum for lunch ( 4 people including your child ) as our places are limited.
This is your child's last day of their journey at Stonelaw Pre School so I hope you all can make it.
Don't forget your hankies!
Sports Day this year is on Monday 23rd June. It will be held in Overtoun Park or in the large hall depending on the weather.
We will leave nursery around 9.30am and walk over to the park. Run our races (there will be races for adults too so get them trainers looked out) and then walk back to nursery where we will have our medal presentation. Everyone is more than welcome to join us on this day.
We will be looking for helpers to escort the children to and from the park, we will put a sheet out next to signing in book nearer the time.
We will be having a Beach Party on Tuesday 24th June. Nursery hours will be as normal 9.15am - 11.45am.
There will be sand, buckets and spades, water, ball pools, a limbo pole, there might even be an ice-cream van. Your child can wear whatever beach attire they have - even swimsuits!
