We were all so warm in nursery today....but we had lots of fun things to do to take our minds of it!
Out today was the zoo duplo, our interactive dolls house, giant magnets, shape puzzles and number magnets, lace writing boards, chalk boards, sand and water and much, much ,more! Some children were very busy caring for their babies in the house corner and others were sharing story books in the book corner.
We didn't work in our floor book today instead, we started work on our props and costumes that we need to make for our Graduation Show.
Snack today was brown bread toasted with strawberries and melon with a choice of milk or water to drink......delicious!
Our music for our Graduation show hasn't been playing very well so today Mrs Blain and Mrs Brown got round to fixing it and afterwards we had a fantastic practice! We also got round to sorting out costumes, everyone went home with a little note telling you what your child needs to bring into nursery for the show. It would be great if you could bring these items in ASAP so we can get organised....thank you!
Last week and this week we have been talking about caring and sharing. The children have been discussing how they feel and how they think others feel when people don't share with them or when they are left out of a game or are not allowed to join in!
Before it was time to go home we played a game of Guess Who is Calling You........it's really great how all the children can identify each others voices!

Today in the playroom we had balancing beams, stepping stones, water with corks and metal rings, kinetic sand, dressing up clothes, sharing stories in the book corner, the huge magnets, chime bars and maracas, table top games and puzzles, zoo duplo and much, much more. Zara was super at completing the teddy bear 1-20 puzzle and Naima, Logan and Leo all worked together as a team and built a fantastic zoo!
Snack was oatcakes, strawberries and melon with a choice of milk or water to drink. It all went down a treat....although Melody did say the strawberries were 'gusting'!
Mrs Blain  and the children were using their sense of touch to explore bricks, they went outside and made some beautiful brick rubbings and then made a fantastic rainbow wall with them in the floor book.
At Get Together Time we talked about germs and how it is very important to put your used tissues in the bin and then wash your hands. We also spoke about remembering to use a tissue!!
It was Melody's turn for Show & Tell today, she brought in her Peppa Pig book to share with everyone. She told us all about it and then answered the boys and girls questions......well done Melody!
We had another practice of our graduation show, it's all starting to come together and today the younger children were our critical audience!

Today the children were busy playing with the tunnel, stepping stones, money and magnets, popoids, sand and water, dressing up clothes and the doll's house.
The children were builders for the day and were exploring some building materials and tools.  We had bricks, insulation boards, plaster board, wood, screws, screwdriver, hammer, spirit level and hex keys.  We even had some pretend cement and a trowel.  The children enjoyed trying the screwdriver and the hammer.  Cody and Leon enjoyed using the hammer and Eliza was good at spreading the cement on the bricks.  We then printed lots of pictures of and put them in the floorbook.
Snack was bagels with cream cheese and cucumber and also banana with a choice of milk or water.
At Get Together Time we sang days of the week and Ruari told us it was Monday.  Loagn then told us all about his adventures with Buddy bear.  Logan took Buddy to the cinema to see Angry Birds and then he put Buddy's pjs on and Buddy slept in Logan's bed.  On sunday they went to Logan's big brother Ronan's Holy Communion and then had a party where Buddy enjoyed playing on the trampoline.  Buddy had lots of fun and can't wait to visit again.  We then sang Peter Hammers and discussed the Golden Rules and how to be kind to our peers.
Ben G asked to show Mrs Blain and some friends a video on you tube of the tallest building in the world the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.  In the video some men were base jumping off the building.  Ben said the building was older than him.
We then practiced the graduation, the children are getting good at singing the songs.

Please remember to hand in permission slips for our trip on Thursday and tomorrow is melody's turn for show and tell.

Snack today was cereal.

Today in the mid hall at the children played with the sand and water trays, arts and craft table, painting easel, house corner with wooden cooker and sink, dress up, jigsaws, table top games, puppets, book corner,  maths corner with the fish number game. The children also enjoyed looking at their journey books.

The children were practicing writing their name with Mrs Friel. Some of the children used dots to help them write their name and some of them could write their surname too.

Mrs Black was helping the children in making cars and buildings using Lego.

In the crèche room the children showed good teamwork when using the magnetic bricks to build flying houses.
Miss Smith helped the children with their numbers 10-20 by using large flashcards and a dragon jigsaw.

The children practiced their songs for graduation.
Buddy Bear went to stay with Logan for the weekend.

Have a good weekend see you all on Monday.
