What a busy time it's been over the last couple of days! Our beach party on Tuesday was a great success, it was enjoyed by all. Please remember to take a look at our Beautiful Butterflies photo gallery to see some of the fun we got up to!
Thanks to everyone who attended our Graduation Show today and the support you have shown Stonelaw Preschool over the past two years. I hope you will agree with me that the children were fantastic. All the teachers are so proud of them and hope they all have a happy transition to Primary school.
We hope you all have a fantastic summer !
At welcome time today the children voted on which resources to order for nursery from our Sainsbury's Active Kid vouchers. The choices were; tent and tunnel set, wigwam, dance ribbons, hurdles and stamp feet. All of the children used their voting stick to choose which resource they liked best. We will let you next week which items won as the afternoon children also need to vote.
Mrs Friel worked with small groups of children on throwing and catching a ball. The children soon got the hang of it and had lots of fun playing with their friends.
Mrs Brown was helping the children paint dinosaurs using sponges and different colours of paint.
We listened to a funny story called "If my dad was a dog for the day"
At physical time we played musical bumps and musical statues.
We practised our graduation show. The children have become very good at learning the songs and doing the actions.
At welcome time today we practiced some of 'extra' songs for the graduation show. The children were belting them out, hopefully they'll do the same on the day. The children then discussed what they had brought in for snack.
As so many children were on holiday this week we didn't have to use the crèche room today. We had lots of fun making our surprises for Daddy's on Sunday. At the request of Evan we had tea bags in the water tray today along with plastic teapots and cups. The kitchen was out along with the wooden train set which was well used. The dolls house and furniture donated by Greenlees nursery was being enjoyed by all the children.
At physical time Mrs Brown did alphabet yoga with the children. They found it a lot of fun.
Mrs Black took some of the children outside to plant carrot tops in plastic bottles. We hope we will be able to see the roots growing next week.
The story today was I love you Daddy which was about the relationship between a young bear and his Dad.
Today at welcome time the children were full of chat all about yesterdays Sports Day. Evan's favourite race was the bean bag race. Sam liked the bean bag race too, that was because he won it! Iris told us she ran backwards and her Mummy said her medal was lovely. Anton liked the dressing up and the hopping race. He told us he showed his medal to his Daddy and his Daddy said "Wow".
For messy play we had green foam and whisks out.....it was great fun. Daniel managed to blow some bubbles using the whisk. In our water tray we had some sea life animals.
Mrs Blain was helping the children make special presents for their Dads. We have to keep them a big secret until Sunday shhh!.
Snack today was pitta bread, houmous and cucumber with a choice of milk or water to drink. It was Lloyd's turn to be our snack helper and he did a fantastic job.
For physical time the children asked to play musical statues and musical bumps. We were all very energetic dancing around to Lazy Town music and really good at pretending to be statues.
Although there is a few boys and girls off on holiday just now, we still practiced our graduation show as it's only a week tomorrow to the real thing!
Thanks to everyone who came to support our Sports Day yesterday. I think it was enjoyed by all!
We had a small amount of activities out today as our main event was sports day, which we were talking about at welcome time.
We had a fantastic time at Overtoun park doing all our races. The photos are on the photo gallery page.
