On the maths mat the children were exploring pattern, numeracy and time with the giant peg boards, aeroplane counters and the stop watch. In the book corner the children have been enjoying the fairy story books which have been added this week.
The puppet theatre was very popular, the children were putting on shows for each other, using the puppets to re-tell familiar stories. They must have been very funny shows as lots of laughter was heard coming
from the audience!
Some great 'flying machines' were built using all different types of construction materials . I recognised the planes and the helicopters but some of the creations looked very futuristic!
Measurement (volume and capacity) was the focus in our sand and water trays and it was play dough and insects for malleable play.
Snack was wholemeal toast with butter, strawberries and bananas with a choice of milk or water to drink.
This week in the pattern floor book we have been looking at camouflage. The children are keen to explore animal camouflage and are very knowledgeable about this!
Another nativity practice was had today. It's all starting to fall into place and we're getting louder:-) We've also managed to find camel costumes!
