Welcome time this morning included singing the days of the week song, talking about our feelings and how different situations affect us (part of MYSELF this month), Mrs Blain taught the children a heart poem which led to talking about Harry Heart from our shape family.
We were split between the two rooms today. Mrs Blain was in the crèche room making a name card out of love . The children were very good at recognising the letters from their name. The jungle Duplo was also out, an egg head pattern game where the children had to copy the coloured pattern and there were a number of table top games out.
Mrs Brown was in the mid-hall making valentine biscuits with icing and love heart sprinkles. Part of the kitchen was out for role play with the food. Some of the children took the new tumblers, filled them with items from the sensory play and used a pipe cleaner as a straw. Very clever and imaginative boys and girls. The sensory play was a mix of items relating to Valentines - shredded pink paper, pipe cleaners, ribbons, heart playing cards, red balloons - lots of fun.
Snack today was oatcakes with melon and apple along with milk or water.
At Get together time the children discussed their favourite things to do today. They all enjoyed decorating biscuits and where very good at telling Mrs Brown about making the name cards. Mrs Blain then read the book 'A Frog in love'.
For Goodbye time Mrs Blain did a throwing the bean bag into the heart game. The children had to choose which size of heart to throw to and then decide if they have to throw harder or softer to get it in.
