Mrs Brown introduced the children to syllables. The children used some musical instruments to count the syllables in their names. Ros said "i've got 3 letters in my name, thats 1 syllable". Leo was very good and used the big drum and Felix could tell us how many syllables were in his name without any help!
In the mid hall there were cars and the car park, wooden doll's house, space rockets, easel, colourful rice, house corner, jigsaws and water with measuring jugs and cups. Mrs Blain was asking some children to choose a target. Eilidh D and Louis chose to develop their writing skills and have already worked very hard on this.
Snack was wraps with tomatoes, apples and a choice of milk or water.
At Get together time we spoke about Robert Burns. Ben G said "It's Robert Burns' birthday", and Josh said "He wears tartan". We discussed that we will be celebrating Robert Burns day on Monday with some special activities although some children seemed a little disappointed that we won't be having birthday cake. Mrs Blain read "A moose in the hoose". This story was very funny and the children were practising some of the Scottish words. We then sang 'Ye canny shove yer granny aff the bus'.
Buddy Bear chose to go home with Ben A this weekend and Ben wants to show Buddy all his toys, we can't wait to hear all about their adventures.
Well Done to Louis who received a good sitting award today and Well Done to Zara who completed a 40 piece jigsaw without any help.
Children are welcome to wear tartan or something Scottish for our Robert Burns celebrations on Monday.
