Mrs Blain, Mrs Winsley and the children were on the hunt for insects. We used magnifine glasses, books and a sheet with various insects to see what we could find. We found a couple of slugs, woodlouse and some worms under the wooden log. Mrs Winsley caught a spider in the shed and we found some snails on the underneath of the tyre. Mrs Blain had her own insect tub filled with sand, coffee beans and plastic insects. The children discussed why we don't see some of the insects at this time of year.
Indoors (where is was nice and warm!) the children were enjoying building using the Kapla blocks and the wooden road pieces. Euan and Adam took the diggers, made a pile of 'rubble' with the Kapla blocks and then moved the rubble from one area to another. The house corner was very popular along with the sand pit. The little lego was out in the reading corner and Oscar, Holly, Anna and Finn were very busy making models. Nieve made a superhero and Finn was looking for a treasure chest.
Snack was pancakes with blueberries and apples. We had milk or water on offer to drink.
At reflection time Ms Smith went over syllables with the children and then it was time to choose who Buddy bear went with. He chose Scarlett.
Have a great weekend everyone.
