This morning at Welcome time the boys and girls sang their good morning song and did some finger exercises with Mrs Brown.
We started learning about "The Police Force" and some of the boys and girls worked with Mrs Blain in their floor book talking about and drawing pictures of the jobs police officers do. Daniel drew a fantastic picture of a helicopter with a huge search light on it. He told us that it was searching for a little boy who was lost in the forest. Orlaidh told us that you have to call the police and they will help you if a robber breaks into your house.
Daniel was very helpful and brought in lots of police resources from home. He had hand cuffs, police traffic cones, a stop and go traffic sign, a police uniform and a camera for taking pictures of evidence. Thanks Daniel.
Snack this morning was crackers, cheese and grapes with a choice of milk or water to drink.
Some of the children enjoyed playing with the fresh play dough that Mrs Black had made, some were very good at completing the police puzzle and others chose to write and cut out at our writing table.
At Physical time we played with the parachute. Someone had to pretend that they were a police officer and someone else had to hide under the parachute. We pretended we had a child missing from nursery and we had to give a full description to the police officer and he/she had to listen very carefully to the description and see if they could figure out who was missing (hiding under the parachute). We had great fun and were very good at describing what each other looked like and what they were wearing.
