Mrs Black was using the laptop to investigate different building materials. The boys and girls couldn't believe that you can use straw to build houses so we had a look. Ros thought that it would be very scratchy and Eilidh Dingwall believed it may be blown away a bit too easily, but nevertheless we found a few photos. We soon discovered that it was not just the three little pigs that used straw and that the wolf would struggle to blow down these houses.
But it was not a day to be stuck indoors looking at computers and we soon headed out to the park. We gathered a few sticks on the way and may try to build a house with them next. The boys and girls loved the park today. Mrs Brown brought along our money cards and some beanbags and the children thoroughly enjoyed throwing the beanbags at the different coins depicted. Mrs Friel was minding her head as the frisbees went flying about the blue sky and Miss Smith was doing a brilliant job manning the swings. Mrs Black went fishing for sharks but these small, giggling sharks were too fast and tricky for her catch!
Then it was back for a tasty snack of cereal with the children having the choice between Cheerios or Cornflakes. They were all very hungry and thirsty so snack was very much appreciated today!
There was just enough time left for a quick story before home time. Mrs Black thought it might be good fun to let the children tell the story of the three little pigs. Zara was mummy pig, Jessica, Ruari and Leon were our little pigs and Felix was a fabulous big, bad wolf. All the boys and girls were brilliant at joining in with the wolf's huffing and puffing and it really was a lot of fun seeing them act out the story.
We will see you all tomorrow hopefully with the sun shining again.
