In the floorbook we continued Our Bodies topic. The children had 8 pieces of paper with bones that had to be rearranged to form a skeleton. It was the same size as some of the boys and girls and allowed them to the size of their bones. The children were super clever at identifying and writing down the parts of the body ie. spine, skull, funny bone, hips, shoulders. Olivia drew a heart in the correct place and Naima drew a brain. Felix learned that the longest bone in our bodies is called the Femur (thigh bone) and Cody said "our toes are tiny bones". The children also drew the lungs, stomach and intestine, we also made one of the bones broken and discussed xrays. Ros tried to put cellotape on it to fix it.
Snack was baguette with butter and apples.
At Get Together time we sang days of the week and discussed the weather. We then heard from Leon, who had Buddy Bear for the weekend. Buddy enjoyed watching Leon play tennis on the Nintendo Wii, building with lego and loved hearing lots of stories.
After some free play the children tidied up and we had a game of The Big Brown Bear. Some children are so fast at running and they were all cheering each other on.
Thank you to Eliza's mummy who helped in the playroom this morning. Tomorrow is Mack's Show and Tell. We can't wait to see what he brings in.
