Some children were drawing pictures of the Golden Rules for our display in the corridor, Leo and Logan drew around their hands for kind hands and Ruari knew all 5 Golden Rules.
Snack was rice cakes, cheese, grapes and carrot sticks with a choice of milk or water.
Some children were drawing self portraits by looking in the mirror and discussing their hair and eye colours as part of our All About Me focus this week.
After we learned lots through play we tidied up and sat in the book corner for reflection time, this gives children the opportunity to share their views and opinions regarding what they have learned, liked and disliked throughout the session. Melody told us she enjoyed using the large lego bricks to build a chair and Cody enjoyed helping his friends to build a rocket ship. Good team work!
We also talked about the importance of the Golden Rules which are;
& CHOOSE, PLAY AND PUT AWAY
We then sang 'Hello little blue bird', this song encourages each child to take a turn to stand up and tell everyone their name and their friends sing it back to them. This is useful to help the children learn the names of their new friends.
Well Done to all our returners who have been helping their new friends settle into nursery and we hope the new boys and girls are having fun.
We would really appreciate if parents could fill out the holiday sheets with their child. There is space for parents to write and a box for children to draw in. This could be details of a holiday or a fun day out during the summer holidays and these sheets will be put into your child's journey book so they can look back on it.
