The children were continuing to discuss the important jobs our lungs do with Mrs Brown. Some of the children used recycled bottles, straws and balloons to make lungs. The straws were the windpipe with a balloon at each end and the bottle was the body. When the children blow into the straws the balloons (lungs) inflate and then deflate and helped the children to understand how lungs work.
Snack was crackers, cheese and grapes with milk or water.
At Get Together Time we sang days of the week and Ben A told us it was Monday and Leo told us it was sunny. Jessica told us all about her adventures with Buddy Bear. Jessica took Buddy to the Glasshouse and they saw snakes and tarantulas. Buddy was a little scared so Jessica gave him lots of cuddles. Jessica also brushed Buddy's teeth and he slept in Jessica's bed. Buddy met all Jessica's teddies and his favourite was her Elsa teddy. Finlay then stood up and showed all his friends a book he made at home called 'The tree grows'. Finlay was the author and illustrator.
After Get Together Time some children went out a walk to the shops with Mrs Blain and Mrs Friel. The children were looking for numbers in the environment. They found telepohone numbers and prices in shop windows.
At Goodbye time the children who had made lungs stood up and demonstrated how lungs work to their friends. Jessica, Leon, Eilidh W, Aaron, Ava and Eilidh D enjoyed showing their peers what they had made. Some boys and girls said they will try to make these at home.
Tomorrow is Louis' show and tell, we can't wait to see what he brings in.
