Mrs Brown was teaching the children about ears and hearing for the floorbook. Children learned about the outer ear, the ear canal, ear drum and how the messages are sent to the brain. Josh told us "my ears pop when I go on a plane", and Felix said "if you cover your ears its blocks them and you hear nothing". The children then used a variety of materials to make sounds and describe them. Eilidh D made a guitar and a piano and Ros said pulling the popoid sounded like a pig snorting.
At Get Together time Leo told us all about his weekend with Buddy Bear. Buddy met Leo's brother Max and his cousins Abby and Chloe. Buddy also got to meet Leo's little cousin Addison who was a tiny little baby. Leo took Buddy to the cinema and they got to eat chocolate. The children then sang days of the week and some children stood up to hold a piece of paper with the days of the week on it. The children could count that there are 7 days in a week. We then had a chat about bringing toys into nursery and asked the children to keep toys in their bags so they don't get lost, broken or forgotten.
Snack was baguette, chicken and cucumber with milk or water. The boys and girls were looking at the numbers next to the snack to see how many pieces to take.
Mrs Blain played number islands with the children. The children danced around and when the music stopped they had to go stand on a number, if Mrs Blain said their number they were out.
Mrs Friel was reading some stories about mum's as it's nearly mothers day and the children were talking about their own mum's.
At reflection time we had a quick game of Chinese whispers, it was really funny and the train goes choo choo turned into go to jail by the time we were finished.
The children then told us what they enjoyed and what they would like to play with tomorrow.
Tomorrow is Olivia's turn for show and tell, we can't wait to see what she brings in.
