Mrs Brown was working on the floorbook with the children, they were looking at signs to keep us safe that you might find at the train station or on a train. Mack recognised a first aid sign and said "This is if you're sick or hurt", and Ava knew not to go past the yellow line at the platform "don't jump onto the track or you get knocked down because the train goes fast". We also looked at a picture of Central Station. Josh said "the train station has a clock for the trains so they know what time to come at". Great answers boys and girls.
Snack was baguette, chicken, cucumber and banana with milk or water. Louis, Ben A and Jessica got stickers for sitting so well and having lovely manners at the snack table.
At get together time we played the Big Brown Bear, this was so much fun and the children waited patiently for their turn and were all very fast at running and cheered each other on. We then started talking about the Nativity show as it's November. The children were told all about it and practiced some lines and listened to some songs, we can tell already the children will put on an amazing performance.
Mrs Friel was playing a shape snap game and the children were learning about diamonds, hexagons, pentagons, ovals, circles, triangles, squares and rectangles. The children were describing the shape properties as they played.
At reflection time we discussed being successful learners. Ben A was a successful learner because "I learned to paint a christmas tree", and Zara was a successful learner because "I was making my name in the sand", and Aaron was a successful learner because "I was learning to make a haunted house and zombies with wooden blocks".
