This morning the boys and girls were talking about the days of the week, what is today? what was yesterday? and what is tomorrow? They are doing really well at picking up the correct order of the days. Some of the children showed their home link diary Police Officers to the other children. The Police Officers are super. Jamie's had a 'wow wow' (siren) on a zig zag road.
The mouldable foam with shape formation cards was out for messy play today. The balance beam was out for physical play. The kitchen and dress up were out for role play. We had some new blackboards today in the writing corner. The puppets and books were out in the reading corner.
Snack was cream crackers with orange segments and melon cubes. Emma and Orlaidh both said they didn't like cream crackers but after having a small taste they both ate one whole one. Well done girls for trying and tasting new things.
At group time today the yellow circles were doing magnetic number recognition with Mrs Winsley; the blue squares played shape snap with Mrs Friel and the red diamonds were working on pictures of Sammy Square with Mrs Blain.
At Get Together time Mrs Blain was going over our shape family. The boys and girls are doing so well at remembering the shapes, their names and their songs. Mrs Blain read the book Shapes and Sizes to the children.
At Goodbye time they sang the song Good morning little black bird but changed the words for different patterns on the children's clothes. The story 'Someone bigger' was read which the children were to pick out the shapes they saw.
