At welcome time today Hugh had brought in his ukulele and told his nursery friends all about it.. He then sang us twinkle, twinkle little star. The other children enjoyed the performance.
For messy play we had the cloud dough out. Physical play was the balance beam and instead of the kitchen we had a doctors surgery. There were a number of children with bandages on this morning.
At group time the yellow circles (Mrs Browns group) decorated their favourite number with tissue paper. The red diamonds (Mrs Blains group) learnt about rhyming words and then made up the following rhyme; Kashash the ted, went into a red bed, he put on the light and flew a kite. The blue squares (Mrs Friels group) were practicing writing their names. The children are doing super writing.
Snack today was toast and banana with choice of milk or water.
Mrs Brown was continuing work on the Food Plate. Today the focus was Energy foods (pasta , rice, bread and cereal)which go on the yellow section. The children were very clever as they were able to distinguish which foods were for healthy heart and those which were for energy and place them in the correct place on our large plate.
Mrs Friel was working on the floor book, talking about Doctors and drawing pictures of what they know about Doctors and Nurses.
At goodbye time we used our voting sticks to choose which story we'd like to hear. The majority went with 'Topsy and Tim go to the hospital'. After this we played The Wheels on the Bus and Miss Polly had a Dolly with musical instruments and sang along. A lot of fun.
