This morning it was Arianna's show and tell. She brought in her Monster High and My Little Pony dolls. Arianna was super at telling the other children about them and answering questions. Well done Arianna. Mrs Friel continued her French lessons with the children and Jamie had brought in a book with My First French words in it. The children enjoyed hearing the French words and then practiced their numbers.
At the malleable area there was peach playdough with love heart cutters, next to which Mrs Friel was at the creative table making Valentine cards with the children. The house corner was in full use this morning. Mrs Black had spent the long weekend washing and sorting the dress up clothes (she found out we had 27 princess dresses!) so the children had a great time trying on some of the 'new' ones. There were also some new coloured tumblers in the food box.
The Mega blocks train track was out along with Popoids and Duplo. In the small world area the wooden castle with knights was out. At the maths area today Mrs Black had a torch, kaleidoscope and binoculars which were very popular.
The red diamonds group time was spent making models from construction straws. There were some fantastic creations. The yellow circles listened to a book that Katee and her Daddy had made and the blue squares continued with making valentines cards. What busy creative children we have at Stonelaw.
Snack was wraps with chicken and tomatoes along with milk or water. The children were creating their own wraps.
For Get Together time Mrs Friel read the book 'Nobody Cares about me' which led into a discussion about having brothers and sisters and how parents love all of them the same.
Our physical time ended up being our Goodbye time too as the morning had gone so quickly. We played musical statues and musical bumps which the children always enjoy.
