We talked about milk and dairy products in the floor book, the children gave lots of great answers; Stellan said he loves cheese and toast, Melody said orange cheese is made from milk. Jasmine said that milk gives us strong teeth and bones. The children also enjoyed playing in the water tray which was filled with water and white paint. We used little measuring beakers to fill up and empty our pretend milk. The children recognised some of the numbers on the beakers and used mathematical language such as; big, biggest, full, top, small and half. Ros said "it looks like milk but does'nt smell like it."
For snack today we had toast with butter, apple and peppers with milk or water to drink.
For physical time we played with a friend and a hula hoop to promote good sharing in nursery. Some of the children shared really well with their friend and enjoyed playing games with the hula hoop.
Leon, Robbie, Sophia and Logan were balancing on our new beams. They found it a little tricky so decided to try it without shoes and socks. The children were able to take their socks and shoes off and back on again without adult help. The boys and girls found it much easier to balance without shoes, Robbie even went all around without falling off once!!!
At reflection time the children talked about what they enjoyed doing in nursery and what they would like to do tomorrow in nursery. Most children said that they wanted to go into the nursery garden tomorrow and some talked about going to the park which we will definitely do next week.
