At welcome time we celebrated the achievements of Jamie and Iris. Well done Jamie for putting your face in the water and blowing out bubbles for swimming. Well done Iris for completing Stage 1 at swimming lessons. Jamie and Iris were able to tell the boys and girls all about their great achievements and even did a demonstration!!
The children worked on their floorbook discussing how to be safe in the sun. The children drew a fantastic poster of a cat wearing a hat, very cool sun glasses, sun cream and a long sleeve top. The children also said that it was important to keep in the shade and drink water.
We watched a short video called "play safe in the sun" about a little boy and his dog explaining that the sun has ultra violet rays which could give us sun burn if we do not protect ourselves.
At physical time we played a weather version of duck duck goose. The children decided what weather they wanted to say instead of duck and then said sun instead of goose.
Snack today was a wrap with a choice of chicken or cheese spread with tomatoes and cucumber and either milk or water to drink.
At group time the yellow circles were working on transient art. The red diamonds were taking part in a cloud experiment and the blue squares were playing a sound game using the CD player.
The giant lego bricks were out today, the wooden dolls house, the garage and cars, the book corner, writing table, linking elephants, jigsaws, dominoes and the children's journey books for the children to look through.
We then listened to part of a story called "Safe in the Sun" which Mrs Brown will finish reading tomorrow.
