At welcome time this morning we were working on our numbers. Mrs Friel had all the children standing and shouting out numbers firstly 1-10 then 1-20. They are doing super. Then numbers 1-5 in French. What clever children we have. The children also talked about the weather.
The large lego bricks were out today which were very popular and some fantastic creations were made. Lots of large towers. The cloud dough and the sand were out for messy play. The writing area, maths area and reading corner were all out. The kitchen was out along with dress up for role play. The castle and knights were out in the small world area and for construction the duplo train track and acrobats were out.
Mrs Friel was working on the floorbook with the children, continuing learning about precipitation and why we need rain water.
Snack was toast with bananas and nectarine with a choice of milk or water to drink.
The yellow circles were doing pictures of their favourite books for world book day during group time. The red diamonds were chatting about which fruits they like and completing a chart. The blue squares were chatting about numbers and copying numbers, some of them got all the way to 20!
At physical time Mrs Friel played a musical game - when the music stopped the children had to run to the correct weather pictures that Mrs Friel called out.
For Goodbye time the story Katie's Umbrella was read, which was about different types of weather.
