Mrs Blain made rain shakers with the children. The boys and girls decorated them and then scooped rice into them. As they were making them we discussed what clothes to wear to protect us from the rain and some children remembered the words evaporation, condensation and precipitation.
Snack was toasted bagels with a choice of butter or cheese spread and cucumber.
Some boys and girls were playing a shape tracing game and shape pairs game on the nursery tablet, the boys and girls had very good remembering skills and could describe the properties of the shapes.
At physical time the children were dancing, however when the music stopped they had to jump on a "puddle", and each time a puddle was taken away and the child who didn't have a puddle was out.
At together time the children discovered so waterproof materials that protects them from the rain. Katee stepped in a basin of water with socks on and the children concluded that socks are made from non waterproof material. We then tried it again but this time Katee wore wellies. The children discovered that wellies are waterproof and also looked at waterproof trousers and an umbrella. Then Mrs Blain read the story "one rainy day".
