On the floor today we had sand and water in our messy area, the stepping stairs and balancing beams for physical, for construction we had the popoids out. Logan and Ruari made some great wobbly head robots with these! For small world we had dinosaurs and the wooden dolls house. In the book corner some of the children enjoyed telling each other the story of the Gruffalo using the magnetic picture cards. In the investigation corner we had lots of different materials to explore....metal, plastic, wood, rubber, transparent, wool, buttons and much, much more!
As Christmas is now over, it's time to bring our Christmas floor book to an end. So, today Miss Smith was collecting all the children's comments about all the fun experiences in the floor book.
We have to give a big warm welcome to Adam, who joined the Stonelaw Preschool gang today. We hope you had a fun time and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Snack today was delicious....oatcakes and butter, strawberries and melon with a choice of milk or water to drink. It went down a treat!
We have started to learn some makaton signing in nursery. Today we looked at the signs for red, blue and pink and sang the song Sleeping Bunnies using makaton signs for the words look, bunny, sleep, wake and stop! The children also know the sign for'finish', they are super at signing this!
It was Elijah's turn for Show and Tell today, he brought in a dino morpher and a spiderbot! Elijah was very confident telling the children and teachers all about his new toys and showing them how they work.
At Reflection Time the children thought about all the things they got up to over the session. Olivia's favourite part was singing and signing Sleeping Bunnies. Ruari loved building his wobbly head robot and Jasmine enjoyed drawing pictures with Euan. Robbie told Mrs Blain he had learned how to sign lots of new words!
