We were busy, busy, busy in nursery today. We had lots of toys out to play with, balancing beams, kitchen and food, babies, tech robot, purple sand, castle and knights, zoo duplo and cogs and wheels which were very popular, Felix made a beautiful flower out of them.
We're all starting to get really excited about Halloween. So today our puzzles and table top games were all Halloween related. Our water tray had bright green water in it with spiders, fingers, skeletons, a witches cauldron and much more. It was very yucky but great fun!
Mrs Blain had printed all the pictures that had been taken on Friday when we went a wee trip to Rutherglen train station. The children had fun sticking the pictures in their floor book and talking about what they had seen.
Mrs Brown was working with the children using the coloured, squidgy, letters. They were very good at picking out the letters in their names.
Mrs Black was trying out her yeast science experiment again, with the children who didn't get a chance to do it on Friday. She also had pumpkin pictures and real pumpkin seeds. The children had to count out the seeds before they glued them on to their picture.
Snack was muffins, butter and jam with a choice of water or milk to drink.
At Get Together Time we sang some Halloween songs and then we listened to Josh do Show and Tell. He had brought in a fantastic 'Holiday Sticker Book'. It had lots and lots of stickers in it, Josh told us that he got it from his friend who lives faraway.
Just before home time we reflected on our morning. Aaron told us he enjoyed building a zoo and a big gate to keep the bear, elephant and lion in. We also played a listening game. The children had to listen for information relating to them.....they are getting very good at this.
