Miss Smith had the food floorbook out and the children were looking at different packaging for their favourite foods. Jack said "mango doesn't come in a packet, it comes in the skin." They could also identify plastic packaging, boxes and nets for fruit.
Snack was yummy oatcakes with butter, melon and some juicy strawberries which were very popular.
Mrs Black was helping the children make comic strips. Leon was super at using a ruler to draw the lines and created a superhero called Triangle Man who has red and blue laser eyes. Oscar drew a circle for Captain America's shield. The children concentrated very well.
At Get Together Time we used news Ted for news time, whoever holds news Ted gets to tell everyone their news. Katie told us all about her dance class and said they were eating potato scones for a snack. Craig was playing with his friends at his Gran's house and Sophia celebrated her 4th birthday. All the children sang Happy Birthday to Sophia and then we sang Happy Birthday to Mrs Friel, the boys and gilrs guessed that Mrs Friel is 21.
We then took part in an obstacle course. The children went into 2 teams and were very good at listening for the instructions. When they heard the whistle they had to balance on the balance beam, climb onto the stepping stones and then jump off, jump onto colourful circles then throw the bean bag into the hula hoop. The children were fab and all waited patiently for their turn, they enjoyed it so much we all had 2 turns! The children said the balancing was the trickiest part.
