No animal visitors today, but we still had lots of fun!
On the floor we had big and little Lego bricks for construction, today the children were building castle towers big enough so they could take turns hiding in them! In the investigation area we had lots of lovely Spring resources to explore:- rabbits, chicks, tadpoles and frogs, a frog cycle jigsaw, green grass, stones, magnifying glasses, wooden logs and beautiful, colourful transparent butterflies. Boy... was our messy corner messy today! In the sensory tray we had shredded yellow tissue with more Spring resources in it. The children had great fun rummaging through the tissue to find the daffodils, rabbits, frogs and eggs. Some of the children took their own learning forward by hiding the plastic eggs around the room for their friends to find.
Snack today was wholemeal toast and butter, raspberries, blackberries and banana, with a choice of milk or water to drink.....delicious!
Mrs Black and the children were continuing with our Space topic. Today they used the computer to watch rockets blast off into Space. Afterwards, they made super spaceship pictures out of 2D shapes.
At Get Together Time we sang the days of the week song and talked about the all signs of Spring. Mrs Blain read a story called Little Baa, it was about a little lamb who wandered away from his Mummy. The children listened well and were very good at answering all of Mrs Blain's questions about the story. Afterwards, we sang the song 5 Woolley Lambs, the children loved pretending to be the little lambs wandering away, Melody was a fantastic Mummy sheep calling "Baa, Baa, Baa" to get her little lambs to return to their pen!
