Today in nursery there was lots going on. In the messy area we had padlocks and keys in our sand, lots of materials to get creative with and numbers and fishing rods in the water tray.
In the investigation area some of the children were having great fun trying to solve our metal puzzles. Cody and Leon were spies this morning........ they used the magnifying glasses to go around the room looking for clues!
At the writing table some of the children were making up stories using the story sheets whilst others were spelling their names with the large jelly letters.
There was also babies and dressing up in the house corner, puzzles and table top games, the zoo duplo, the tablet and the wooden doll's house and lots more.
For physical we had out the stepping stairs, balancing beams and the hopscotch mat. Some children were enjoying jumping from the top stair on to the mat....they were super at identifying and shouting out the number they were going to land on.
Mrs Blain and the children were looking at still life paintings of fruit today. Van Gogh's Six Oranges in a Basket and Morgan Russell's Three Apples.
The children's paintings of these were fantastic......Mrs Blain was well impressed!
Snack today was wholemeal toast, butter, triangular cheeses and banana with a choice of milk or water to drink.
At Reflection Time we looked at each others paintings, then we had a chat about all the different ways that foods can be cooked. Be prepared for lots of questions at tea-time!
It was Melody's turn for Show & Tell today, she brought in 'Buster' her cuddly toy dog. She told the boys and girls she bought him in a toy shop, there were lots of Busters in the toy shop but she chose that one and....... there was a rainbow doggy too but he cost $55 :-)
Before home time we had a request for musical statues. We all had great fun dancing around, some of the children were very good at standing really still when the music stopped!
