At welcome time this morning the children discussed the days of the week and did the days of the week song. The children then talked about the weather and what play choices there were today due to staying inside.
Due to the very wet weather we decided to stay indoors today rather than venture to the park. In the mid-hall we had the magnetic blocks out which was very popular with the children today. For role play we had the play food and microwave out. The farm yard and animal set was also out. Messy play was the coloured rice which the children enjoyed pouring from tub to tub.
With Mrs Friel at the creative table the children were drawing pictures of items relating to the police. Some of the great pictures are now on the display wall so please have a look.
In the crèche room Mrs Brown was taking the children in small groups to do rhyming activities. This is part of our literacy programme we are implementing this term. The children were super at using their listening ears to spot the rhyming words in Mrs Brown's stories.
Snack today was cereal with a choice of water or milk. Always a favourite with the children.
At goodbye time Mrs Brown read the story Tyrannosaurus Drip. When Mrs Brown stated the author was Julia Donaldson Anton said "that's the same as Tabby McTat". After the story the children did the Sandy boy/girl action song but Mrs Brown changed some of it so they had to use describing words.
