The water tray was a bit foamy with soap dispensers, our water wheel and an assortment of pipes. The green tray proved to be very popular, the children loved using the diggers and trucks in there to pick up the tiny pebbles, stones and shells. The painting easel is a firm favourite and the children enjoy using the arts and crafts table whilst waiting for their turn to paint. The Duplo and wooden train track were being used for the great architectural ideas of the future -Network Rail will be offering jobs to our children soon!
The mid hall was so busy in fact that the teachers weren't sure if we could entice the boys and girls to try any of the planned activities. Mrs Brown soon had some customers over at her table and the important work of St Valentine began. If traces of red paint or glitter can be found it is not the remnants of Chinese New Year, but the start of a new project!
Mrs Friel, Mrs Winsley and Mrs Black were off on an adventure with some of the children. It was jackets, shoes and gloves time and then off to the BMX track at Overtoun Park. The sun shone us all but we still managed to find puddles with ice on them. Some of the children (Ros McDonald and Leon Kalsi-Gray) just rolled up the old trouser legs and waded on in while others (Felix Ackermann and Josh Downs) were content soaking Mrs Black by splashing sticks in the puddle!! It was lovely being outside in the sunshine and I think the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
With all that fresh air and exercise the children were more than ready for their snack. Mrs Gallagher had bread and butter with salami, chicken and apple and the boys and girls didn't take long to clear their plates.
It was lovely to see all the children in today and a special thank you to our gorgeous assistant who came to visit today, Miss Katee Winsley. She was a tremendous help to us and the boys and girls loved having her here. We will see you all tomorrow for more fun and learning.
