Euan, Jasmine and Anna were decorating a cardboard tree with different coloured pom poms. They had to match the correct colour to the correct hole and they were very good at doing this but it was also lots of fun to roll them about and use them as snowballs.
We were very proud of the boys and girls when they were out and about. We went investigating up into the church and talked about the Christmas story. Ruari was interested in the stained glass window and knew that it told stories through the pictures. Logan and Elijah knew "Away in a Manger" and we all had a sing along. Then we visited the Meeting Place at the front of the church, where we had a look at a nativity scene and chatted to the ladies up there having tea and cake (Elijah's gran was caught!!). The ladies then gave us stones that were painted with pictures of the baby Jesus and the children were allowed to take them home.
Some of the children did some more singing walking up to Burnside's Christmas tree and passers-by were treated to "Jingle Bells", "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer" and some of our nativity songs. I think Buddy the Elf is right when he says "the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear".
We had tasty pitta bread, houmous, cherry tomatoes and apple for snack today and that was just as well because Stellan told us that his tummy was very empty and very hungry after all the walking he had done!
At Reflection Time we decided to put on another musical performance - Stonelaw's Got Talent. We had showstoppers from boy bands and girl bands and they all sang brilliantly, we might try it again tomorrow.
We will see you all tomorrow for more fun and learning.
