Today we were back to the busy business of playing. The children certainly had lots of activities to choose from, train tracks, cars, cats, dogs, castles, houses and kitchens to name but a few. Mrs Brown was working with the children on a beautiful mistletoe pictures (check for green paint under the fingernails!) that I am sure you will all love.
Mrs Friel and Mrs Black decided that it was time to shake off the winter blues and have a trip to the park. The first outing saw us at Overtoun swing park but we did find that the swings and slides were far too wet to go on. This did not stop our intrepid explorers though and we had a great time on the adventure playground climbing, swinging, balancing, clambering and generally getting muddy.
The second group only made it as far as the BMX track but we still had a brilliant time running up and down the slopes - Mrs Black will sleep well tonight!! The boys and girls are becoming very skilled at balancing and climbing and it is lovely to see the confidence in their own abilities growing.
On the way back to nursery it seemed only right to treat all the residents to a few choruses of "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", "When Santa Got Stuck up the Chimney" and "Jingle Bells". I think this was well received by all passers by and it was lots of fun!
After today's fun I hope that the children are all looking forward to tomorrow. We can't wait to see them in their party clothes and I think that there might be a special visitor making an appearance at 11.30am so if mums and dads would like to join us then please head down at 11.20am. See you tomorrow.
