Mrs Black was showing the children more photos of buildings today - this time straw bale construction sites and stick houses. Then she asked the children to construct buildings using straw and sticks, but it was drinking straws so nobody was sneezing from hay fever. The children were very inventive with this task and by the end of the session we had wigwams, pirate ships, the leaning tower of Pisa, bridges, castles and even a long boat!
Mrs Brown and Miss Smith were in the small hall playing dinosaurs, board games and a fun game of sounds. Mrs Brown asked the children to make patterns by using the musical instruments.
Mrs Friel had her chef's hat on preparing a tasty ensemble of pitta bread, humus, cherry tomatoes and apples - all the teachers were feeling hungry after that!
At Reflection Time the children put on a fantastic retelling of the three little pigs, building on their acting skills from last week. We had props and everything but the outcome was still the same - the pigs won the day.
