Mrs Brown wanted the children not only to have play dough but to learn how to make it. Flour, olive oil, cream of tartar were all kneaded together along with two secret ingredients - cranberry juice and lots and lots of glitter. Cody, Ben Gough, Leo and Ava all had a turn getting sticky and mixing the dough. After it was finished the children had a great time using it to mould the letters of their names.
Mrs Friel really enjoyed the show put on by the children through in the small hall. They were singing brilliant songs and reciting poems that matched the glove and finger puppets they were using.
Mrs Black was very impressed with the Fuzzy Felt funny faces the children were creating. There were some crazy hairstyles appearing, moving ears and eyes/eyebrows going off in different directions. We are very glad the children weren't doing portraits of the teachers but Mrs Black liked the hair bows on Eilidh Walsh's character and may have her hair done like that next time she visits the Stonelaw Preschool hair salon.
Jessica drew a fabulous face on our white boards and Ava built a tower of five robots - we could never quite make it to six. Aaron, Finlay, Felix and Leon were completely engaged building with the Lego that was out and Eilidh Dingwall spent the morning designing her own clothing line, specialising in hats today!
At snack time the children had the choice between Rice Krispies or Cheerios all served up by Mrs Gallagher, and this proved very popular.
At Reflection time Mrs Black read a very interesting story about the different cells that we find in our bodies. We were all amazed to find out that there are 10,000 million cells - in just our thumbs!!!
We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for more fun learning.
