What a lovely start to Wednesday, the sun was shining and it was great to tell the children that they could keep their boots on for a trip to the park.
We still had our morning routine in place though and as we waited for all our friends to arrive the children were busy brushing their teeth with Mrs Gallagher, painting at the easel, playing with the kitchen and trying all the other fun activities that were out.
The Lego was the biggest hit, especially with the boys, and there were some brilliant creations being built. Aaron made a fantastic city while Finlay and Eilidh Dingwall made excellent cars and taxis. Ruari and Leon built towers and then really impressed Mrs Black with their clever counting skills and colour recognition.
Then it was off to the park with Mrs Friel and Mrs Brown for our split expedition of children. They had a great time playing on the adventure apparatus and Leo the pirate made sure that everyone behaved themselves!
Snack was a popular one today - bread and butter with salami and apple. When the children returned from the park, after that fresh air and exercise, they were ready to refuel.
As this is National Book Week we have asked the children to bring in books from home. Today it was the Blue Squares that brought books to nursery. Naima went one step further however and brought her mum in to read the story!! It was lovely to have Naima's mum here with us today and she read us "The Gruffalo" - one of our favourites. Finlay also brought a great story about Peppa
Pig and her visit to a fire station. Finlay, Melody, Otis, Louis, Leo and Ben Archibald really enjoyed helping Mrs Black act out the story especially when Daddy Pig (Otis) set the barbeque on fire and the water from the hose made muddy puddles for everyone to jump in. Tomorrow it is the turn of the Yellow Circles and I can't wait to hear the stories that make an appearance.
Just a wee reminder that tomorrow is also Story Sack day and we can't wait to hear how you have enjoyed last weeks choices. We will also have a special story brought in by Ros all about her adventures with Buddy Bear. See you tomorrow for more fun and adventures.
