Mrs Brown and the children were creating weird and wonderful creatures with play dough, wings, loads of legs and googly eyes. I wonder if Amazonia would have been impressed seeing all these creepy crawlies - I am sure they would have been!
Mrs Friel was also feeling inspired by the jungle theme and the children were drawing their favourite insects and bugs for her. There were spiders, butterflies and beetles galore.
Miss Smith was playing some fun insect dominoes with Eilidh Walsh but I think Eilidh must be very good at her numbers because she won everytime!
Our musical instruments were out and the tunes that Felix and Aaron could create with just three chime bars, a wooden block and noise maker were brilliant. Louis and Ben Archibald also "chimed" in with some tunes of their own. Mrs Brown was so impressed with their rendition of "We Will Rock You" and "Another One Bites The Dust" and said that their singing was amazing.
Mrs Black was through in the small hall with a special helper - Otis' mum and there was some brilliant den building going on in there. The children were very inventive with the tarpaulin and pegs provided. We also had lots of fun acting out "The Three Little Pigs" story and fortunately our house did not fall down.
With all the different activities happening today the children were ready for their snack of Cheerios and Shreddies. Squares definitely beat circles in the popularity contest today, we were nearly through the whole box today.
At Reflection Time Mrs Black read the story of "The Ravenous Beast" and the children really enjoyed it but I don't think we would have enjoyed some of the things that the animals were eating for snack - buckets, spades, pirate ships and even polka-dot socks.
We had the important business of wishing our friend Ben Gough a "Happy 5th Birthday" and it is not every five year old that gets two prominent MSPs joining in with the Hip Hip Hoorays. We hope you have had a fantastic birthday Ben.
We will see you all tomorrow for more fun and learning.
