At Welcome Time this morning Mrs Brown had a range of number pictures from 1-16. The children were given a picture and then they had to get themselves in low to high sequence and then sit down according to high to low order. They discussed what numbers come before and after the numbers that Mrs Brown gave them.
Being Wednesday morning the children were able to choose between the two rooms. In the crèche room Mrs Brown was finishing off her rhyming sessions. The children were drawing pictures of their favourite rhyming words and completing rhyming jigsaws. They also played bug in a rug because it rhymed and the children had to provide the descriptions of who was being the bug in the rug.
In the mid-hall Mrs Friel was encouraging the children to take photos of toys and books relating to our topic (People who help us) using the digital camera. We had the small white boards out on the writing table, cranberry playdough for messy play, knights and the castle for imaginative, Tolo for construction and the kitchen with food for role play.
At Get Together time the children had the story Jack and the Flum Flum tree and were identifying the rhyming words as Mrs Brown read it.
For Goodbye time the children asked to have the Big Brown Bear action song.
