At welcome time this morning the children talked about the risk of using matches as Mrs Brown was going to do another experiment with the children later on. They sang the days of the week song all by themselves and chatted about the weather.
In the mid-hall we had all the usual equipment out - kitchen, dolls house, cars, magnetic blocks and the water tray. Mrs Brown was working on a review of the six Julia Donaldson books the children had covered. The children filled in a graph to show their favourite one.
Snack was cereal - a choice of rice krispies or shreddies with milk or water to drink.
In the small room Mrs Friel was playing a shape and size sorting game. The hand held instruments were out which some of the children made a band with. The monkey balancing game was out which they enjoyed playing together.
We then went outside to the BMX track. Mrs Brown did her cloud experiment, which was a smoking match dropped into a bottle to create a smoke cloud. It was not as successful as expected but it was fun. The children then played races, jumping in puddles, digging for treasure and fishing in the swamp. Great fun and the sun was shining.
Back to nursery for a chat about what we did today and then had a look at a weather book for Goodbye time. Finished singing the song Tommy Thumb.
