There were lots of fun activities waiting to be played with on arrival. The car mat and garage proved very popular and I think a few high speed chases may have occurred. The water tray had some fishy creatures floating around in there and the reading corner had the wonderful Hairy McLary in some crazy capers. There was also a funny book "Isabel's Noisy Tummy" by David McKee that Cody, Jessica, Zara and Ruari enjoyed. Otis and Aaron were showing their creative sides by making watches, robot arms and hypnotic devises from our construction toys. Eilidh Dingwall and Mrs Winsley played a really good game called "Spaghetti Junction".
A few of the children then stayed on at nursery working on our topic "Transportation" in the floorbook. Mrs Brown showed them different road signs that they might recognise when they are outside and she was very impressed with all their clever answers.
Meanwhile Mrs Friel and Mrs Black were joined by Eliza, Mack and Josh's mums and we all headed to the park to meet Eugenie. She had brought different types of bulbs for the children to plant and we will look forward to seeing our bulbs growing in the spring. The children then practiced their colours by playing a game of "find me ...". Fortunately the leaves were all turning rouge, jaune and vert and there were beautiful flowers that were rose and bleu. We finished off by singing songs in French and then saying "Merci and Au revoir" to Eugenie.
Snack today was tasty bread and butter with apple and cheese or pomme and fromage as we say at Stonelaw!
Finally another big thank to our parent helpers, without your assistance we would not be able to take as many of the children out on our adventures.
