We had all our favourite learning experiences out, there was plenty of digging in the sand, measuring and pouring in the water and painting at the easel. We had the train track duplo out, and the track ranged from one end of the room to the other. There were chair tunnels and table underpasses with lots of trains delivering their cargo safely. The cars were out and whizzing down the garage into the busy streets below - pedestrians beware of your toes!!
Mrs Black was exploring planet Earth with lots of help from our expert puzzlers. Robbie, Jasmine and Ros put a jigsaw together showing the different continents on the planet and, when we stood and looked at it, we could imagine we were in a rocket ship looking down from space. Elijah and Logan were great at doing the puzzle too and they were able to match the people carrying different flags to the countries in the puzzle.
Katie, Oscar and Craig were serving up some delicious food in the Stonelaw Cafe, Craig even did some rearranging of the furniture so that he had a desk to take your order and serve your food from.
Mrs Brown and Miss Smith were out in the garden today. The children were learning about hand hygiene and why it is important to cover your mouths when you cough or sneeze. There was a catchy wee tune that went along with this activity and I am sure the children would sing it for you if you ask.
Mrs Friel was very popular today, serving up tasty cereal for snack (when she wasn't eating over at the cafe). The children had the choice of Weetabix, Rice Krispies or Cornflakes and it went down a storm.
At Reflection Time Mrs Black was very impressed with the children's geography knowledge. Ruari could point out where Scotland was on the globe and then told us that he had been to Asia when he visited his Auntie. Then we heard all about Fred the busker and his best friend Tabby McTat and we had a chat about all our beloved pets at home.
We will see you all again tomorrow for more fun and learning.
