Welcome time this morning we talked about the weather and then sang some snow songs. 'Snow is falling all around, falling, falling to the ground. I catch snowflakes on my tongue, building snowmen is such fun. Snow is falling all around, falling, falling to the ground' (to the tune of twinkle, twinkle).
We were split between the two rooms. In the crèche room the duplo was out which Orlaidh, Kai and some of the other children made a fantastic castle with. Mrs Friel had the laptop out and the children took it in turns painting pictures. Evan was able to describe to Mrs Brown how he had used the arrows to choose the different colours. There were also a variety of puzzles.
In the mid-hall Mrs Winsley was helping the children create cloud dough using hair conditioner and cornflour. Mrs Brown was doing the rhyme bag. The children enjoyed learning the songs and were very good at pairing the rhyming words. The kitchen was out for role play and the Tolo for construction as well as the dinosaurs.
At Get Together time Mrs Brown consolidated with the rhyming and then did some action songs. For Goodbye time the children voted for which story they would like to read. The majority went for 'Elmer in the Snow'.
