Welcome back to all the children after a great October break. At news time we heard a lot of exciting holiday news. Lloyd had photos of him swimming with dolphins. We also recapped on our Golden Rules. The children were very good at remembering them.
Today we were making voting sticks with Mrs Brown. We learnt about voting and making decisions. The children were asked what topic they would like next and there will be some voting to choose the new topic later this week.
Messy play was the shaving foam. Physical play was the balancing beam. Our house corner has been upgraded over the holidays. Some of the children helped to decide where the mirrors should be positioned and then helped attach them.
Snack was grapes, apples, cheese and breadsticks with the choice of milk or water.
The Red Diamonds (Mrs Blains group) made shields that Knights would use in Castles, and found out why there are different shapes on them. The Blue Squares (Mrs Friels group) continued with developing confidence in speech by having individual news time.
At story time we used our voting sticks to decide which story would be read. The CD story 'The Bear in the Cave' was chosen and enjoyed by all the children. This was followed by a fun game using our voting sticks.
